Community participation

We actively encourage consumer and community participation in our decision-making processes and service delivery.

Some examples of how we encourage the community to participate include:

  • Surveying all residents of a Prahran housing estate
  • Leading a group to clients through our reception and intake services in order to gain their insights and feedback
  • Our Rainbow Place, a fortnightly gathering for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders (ATSI) that is governed and led by ATSI Elders

All of our programs are committed to involving consumers and community members wherever possible.

We also engage with the broader community by:

  • Running and attending community events
  • Writing health articles for local papers
  • Encouraging membership of ISCHS and
  • Sending newsletters to local households

If you would like to participate or would like further information please contact the Community Participation officer at Prahran.
