Applications
You should apply in writing and include your curriculum vitae, setting out your personal details (name, address and contact details), education, previous positions and experience, and three referees (names, addresses and contact details).
In your application, it is important that you address the selection criteria outlined in the relevant position description as this is the basis on which you will be selected for an interview.
Please do not hesitate to call the manager or co-ordinator specified in the position description to discuss the role prior to applying.
Applications can be emailed, hand delivered, posted or faxed. Your application must be received by the closing date and time specified in the position description.
Acknowledgment of Applications
We acknowledge receipt of all applications. There is no advantage in placing applications in folders or plastic sleeves and we ask you not to do this.
Copies of degrees, diplomas etc
It is not necessary to include these with your application. Successful applicants will be required to provide copies of their academic qualifications at their interview or upon taking up an appointment.
The interview
Before your interview, you will be required to fill out a selection of forms. As such, you will need to arrive at reception 15 minutes before your interview time.
The Interview Panel
Our Selection Committees comprises of three people, usually two staff representatives and one external representative.
People applying for a position as a manager or co-ordinator will be required to give a presentation to the panel.
Short Listing
The Selection Committee will make arrangements to interview the short listed applicants. Letters will be sent to the other applicants advising them their applications were not successful at the end of the selection process.
Telephone Interviews
Local applicants will be interviewed in person. Interstate applicants will generally be interviewed by telephone. For telephone interviews a conference telephone is used so all members of the Selection Committee are able to converse with the applicant.
Final Selection
All applicants who have been through the interview process will be contacted via phone and advised of the outcome.

Unsolicited applications
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept unsolicited applications.
Police checks
If you are successful in your application, you will be required to undergo a police check and fill in a pre-existing conditions information form.
Staff working with children are now required by law to undergo a "Working with Children" check.

What to expect in your first weeks
In your first weeks at ISCHS, you can expect:
- An extensive personalised orientation plan, developed with you, to help ease you into the organisation
- A orientation checklist to ensure that you receive all you need to become acquainted with the organisation
- A "buddy" who you will be working with to help you get to know the ropes
- A formal introduction to the CEO and key organisational staff
- A comprehensive training program covering important internal procedures - such as our anti-harassment procedures - and enhancing your professional skills - such as the "Planning and Evaluation" course.
